THE FACE SHAPE GUIDE

The diamond face shape.

Prominent cheekbones, a tapered outline. Here’s how to recognize it — and a few ideas to make it your own.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Three helpful clues.

  1. Cheekbones form the widest part.
  2. The forehead is narrower than the cheek area.
  3. The lower face tapers toward a smaller chin.

These are descriptive patterns, not strict rules. Your face can share features with another shape.

HAIRSTYLES

Work with your texture and taste.

Try a textured fringe or soft fullness at the temples and jaw. Tucking one side behind the ear can highlight your cheekbones.

Your hair density, natural texture and time for styling matter as much as the outline of your face. Bring an example you like to your stylist.

GLASSES & EYEWEAR

A good fit comes first.

Oval, browline or softly curved frames can balance the cheek area. Check that the frames do not rest on your cheeks when you smile.

Look straight ahead when trying frames. They should sit evenly, stay comfortable at the nose and temples, and suit your vision needs.
